What it is for

Market is where local businesses on Scale find each other. A real estate agent can find a stager, a cleaner and a photographer; a restaurant can find a florist; a plumber can sell a maintenance plan.

What it does best

You describe a job once, and businesses come to you. Post a need, local businesses bid, AI lays the bids side by side, and you pick one.

Common tasks

Get a job done

  1. In Market, choose Post a need and describe the job.
  2. Local businesses bid. AI compares the bids for you.
  3. Pick one. Accepting makes an order and a bill in Money, and payments go through Pay.

Sell a service or a template

  1. Set up your booth with your logo and what you offer.
  2. Add listings with true prices. A "was" price must be the real price you charged for the 30 days before.
  3. Answer bids on the Needs board.

Ask for reviews

  1. After a real job, ask the client for a review. Ask every client, not only happy ones.
  2. Never pay or reward anyone for a review.

Fees

  • Fees are shown before you list or pay. There are no buyer fees and no listing fees.
  • Market sales paid through Pay cost the Pay price: 5% with a $1.50 minimum. See Pay fees.
  • On template sales, Scale keeps 15% of each sale, payment processing included. Founding creators pay 10% for their first year.
  • Bids on the Needs board use bid credits, priced in Market before you buy them.

Trust, badges and raffles

  • Each deal is between the businesses involved. Scale is not a party to it and does not guarantee any business or result.
  • A badge means only what its sheet in Market says Scale checked, and when. Badges never change where a business shows up.
  • When Market opens, businesses confirm who they are before they can sell, as the law requires for online marketplaces.
  • A booth can run a free raffle under Scale's Official raffle rules.

Today and at launch

Not open yet

  • Market is not open, so nothing can be listed, bid on or bought. The preview shows how it will work with example businesses, and its payments are simulated.
  • Seller verification (business name, contact details, address, payout bank and tax ID) is built and must be complete before anyone can sell.
  • Every listing has Report suspicious activity.

When it opens

  • Posting needs, bidding and buying between verified businesses, paid through Pay.
  • Template sales and raffles.

How it connects

Orders become bills or invoices in Money and are paid through Pay. Leads from your booth land in Contacts. Templates you sell can come from Docs, Sheets or Slides.
