Questions and answers
Straight answers to what people ask most: billing, cancelling, your data, security, AI, and what works today.

The basics
When can I use it?
Scale Suite opens on January 1, 2027. Until then, inquire with Find me on the home page and Cameron walks you through the preview personally.
Who makes Scale Suite?
Scale Modern Business Solutions LLC, a tech company in San Ramon, California, that has built websites, CRMs and automations on more than 50 client projects. Scale Suite is everything we kept building by hand, in one place.
Who is it for?
Owners of small businesses and the people who work with them: real estate agents, mortgage professionals, plumbers, electricians and other trades, restaurants, shops, salons, studios and professional services. You must be 18 or older, and Scale Suite is for business use, not personal use.
What works today?
In the preview, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Tasks and Notes keep your own work. On the live site, Video places real calls (transcripts, AI notes and recording only when everyone agrees), Chat is real messaging inside your workspace, Drive stores your files with share links, and Sign sends PDFs for signature with an electronic signature consent and an audit trail. Nothing is sent to people outside Scale Suite yet: email and texts to outside addresses, Pay charges and Market are not live. Each app page lists exactly what works today and what comes at launch.
Do I have to move everything over?
No. Start with one app, like Mail or Books, and add the rest when you are ready. Our team helps you bring your email, contacts and files over. See Switching from Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.
Billing
What does it cost?
Suite is $25 a month for 1 person, Pro is $59, Team is $119 for up to 5 people, and Company is $899 for up to 40 people including 5 Pro seats. Founder pricing takes 20% off. See Plans and pricing.
Do I need a card to inquire?
No. Inquiring is free and needs no card. When you start a plan, we ask for a card to start the 30 day free trial, and nothing is charged until the trial ends. We email you 3 days before it does.
Will I be locked in?
No. Plans are monthly and renew automatically after the trial until you cancel. You can cancel online any time in Settings, Plan and billing, with no call needed, and you can export your data whenever you like.
Do you give refunds?
Charges already made are not refunded, including for part of a month, unless the law requires it. Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.
What does it cost to take payments?
5% per payment with a $1.50 minimum, card fees included. Bank transfers are capped at $50 for payments up to $5,000. See Pay fees, with examples.
Your data
Who owns my data?
You do. Your business content is yours. Scale uses it only to run, secure and support the service for you, and never sells it.
Can I take it with me?
Yes. Your documents, contacts, deals, invoices and messages export in standard formats like PDF, CSV and EML. Ask support for a full export and it is ready within 24 hours.
What happens when I close my account?
You have 30 days to restore or export it. Then your data is deleted, and copies in backups are deleted within 35 days after that. Invoice, payment and tax records are kept for 7 years, as the Privacy policy explains.
Where is it stored?
Mostly in the United States. Mail mailboxes are stored in Canada with our email partner. The Subprocessors list names every service provider that handles your content.
Can I store medical records?
No. Do not store protected health information in Scale Suite. Scale is not a HIPAA business associate.
Security basics
What we do, without the hype:
- Connections to Scale are encrypted.
- Passkeys come first, so most people never have a password to steal. If you use a password, turn on two step sign in.
- Bank connections are read only, through Plaid. Scale never sees your bank login, and bank connection tokens are encrypted at rest.
- Payments run through Stripe and go to your own Stripe account. Scale is not a bank and never holds your money.
- AI memory notes are encrypted on your device. That protects them on that device; it is not end to end encryption.
- People at Scale do not look at your business content unless you ask, or to stop abuse, fraud or a security threat, or when the law requires it.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your information, we tell you as the law requires.
AI
What does AI do?
AI is the assistant in every app. It answers questions about your business from your own records, drafts emails and documents, sorts and reminds. See AI.
Will AI send or spend anything on its own?
Not unless you allow it. Out of the box, AI only drafts. Before anything that sends, spends, shares, deletes or signs, you see what it wants to do and approve it. Rules that let it act on its own are off until you turn them on, and anything that moves money needs your OK and a limit you set.
Is my business content used to train AI?
Not unless you choose to. The AI training opt-in is off by default. If you turn it on, Scale may use your content to train and improve AI as the policy describes. You can turn it off any time in Settings, AI, and each choice is recorded with the date. Our AI providers are not allowed to train their models on your content either way. See our AI policy.
Can AI be wrong?
Yes. AI can make mistakes, so read what it writes before it goes out. It does not give legal, tax, financial or medical advice, and it should not decide hiring, credit, housing, insurance or health matters on its own.
Support access
Can Scale support see my account?
Only if you let them. Support access is off by default. The account owner can turn it on in Settings, AI, Scale support access, for 1 hour, 24 hours or 7 days. It is read only, so support cannot send, pay, sign or change anything, and it never shows your Mail, Drive, Docs or Sign content, or AI memory. It ends on its own, or sooner if you turn it off, and every grant, visit and end is logged where you can see it. See the Terms, section 12, and our AI policy.
How do I reach a person?
Email cameron@scalembs.com, or use Settings, Help and support in the app. For privacy requests, email privacy@scalembs.com. For questions about the Terms, legal@scalembs.com.
