1.What passes are
Scale Suite can make three kinds of Apple Wallet passes for your business: a Pay member card, punch cards for your customers, and booking tickets. When a punch card is stamped, the pass on the customer's phone can update. These terms are part of the Terms of service.
Passes are not live yet. They need Scale's Apple certificate, and until it is set up the suite shows a setup note instead.
2.Who issues the pass
Scale issues each pass for your business through Apple Wallet. Scale is shown as the issuer of the pass, and your business is named on it. [Decision for Mike and Cameron: Apple's developer agreement may not allow one company to sign passes for other businesses. Choose Scale branded passes, each business's own Apple certificate, or written OK from Apple.]
Apple may review, limit or remove passes at any time, and we cannot promise a pass stays in Wallet. We use Apple's official Add to Apple Wallet badge.
3.Rewards
You decide the rewards, and you must honor them as shown on the pass. Rewards are free items or services, like a free coffee. They have no cash value, cannot be redeemed for cash, and are not gift cards or stored value. Do not offer dollar amounts as rewards. [Mike: confirm this keeps punch cards outside gift card rules.]
If a reward expires, the expiration date must be printed on the front of the pass. Put the rest of your reward terms on the back of the pass.
4.Updates and messages
Pass updates are only about the pass itself, like a new stamp or a changed booking time. Never use them for ads. Do not charge your customers anything to add or use a pass.
5.Customer information
A pass holds what you put on it, like the customer's name and stamps. When a customer adds a pass, Apple sends a device ID and a push token so the pass can update. We use them only for that, as the Privacy policy describes. Customers can remove a pass from Wallet at any time.
6.Your responsibilities
Keep what is on your passes accurate and lawful, and follow the Acceptable use policy. You are responsible to your customers for the rewards and tickets you issue.
